For The Child

For The Child, a nonprofit organization has several on-call positions at a variety of locations.
Children's Waiting Rooms provide a safe, fun and nurturing setting for children up to age 13 whose parents have business before the court. These are drop-in centers within the courthouse setting - children can be there for an hour, a morning or a day.

Staff will:
* Provide children with a safe and nurturing environment;
* Provide a program that will enrich their lives by exposing them to cultural activities such as art, music and language; and
* Provide a program that will allow children to enjoy leisure activities such as reading for school age children or computer activities and allow children of various ages to engage in recreational activities such as arts and crafts.

Child Development Specialists I - Temporary Full Time position during summer in Van Nuys (start right away - through mid-October)
MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
12 units ECE. 1 year experience in childcare or preschool services. Communicate in English. Ability to carefully care for and nurture infants and children. Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with stressed parents and calm difficult situations. As needed coverage for staff absences: $11 - $12 hour based on experience.
