Five Little Monkeys Home Daycare

Five Little Monkeys is the home daycare of Jessica Barker located in Huntley, IL.

My goal is to provide a caring, home-based, learning environment. The learning here is not limited to educational development, but also includes:

• Learning how to communicate with other children
• Learning how to share and interact with a group
• Learning new things - music, toys, activities
• Learning how to trust others

As a former working parent, I know how important it is to feel confident that you are taking your child to the best place you can find. I am confident that we can offer that at Five Little
Monkeys.

I have been doing daycare for over 14 years now. I have seen families grow and prepared several children to head off to school. I love children and teaching them and offer preschool curriculum. I first received the Silver Circle of Quality for the Excelerate Illinois program in 2016 and have maintained it ever since. The Silver Circle of Quality recognizes the completion of a rigorous self-assessment and implementation of a continuous quality improvement process, which is verified by a state-approved assessor. Silver Circle programs meet or exceed specific quality benchmarks for the learning environment and instructional quality, along with selected program administrative standards; staff qualifications; and professional development.

Safety:
I am First Aid and CPR certified. A fire extinguisher, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, and fire/tornado plan are all in place. All DCFS safety standards are met and even exceeded in my home. We have removable gates that can be put in place for younger children. Our fenced in backyard features a playground and I have a outdoor playyard for infants and toddler to enjoy outdoor play.

Pets:

We love animals here! We have 3 cats, a bearded dragon, a pacman frog and sometimes temporary pet caterpillars!

Parent/Provider Communication:

To me, parent/provider communication is the most important aspect of working together to care for children. I use an app/website called Brightwheel for parent communication, check-in/out, photo sharing, medication logs and even for invoicing and payment. I send out monthly newsletters also.
