Fathema's Child Development Home

Fathema's Child Development Home is a DC-licensed daycare center in the home of Fathema Johra. Ms. Johra is an educator from Bangladesh who has been caring for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers for many years. She provides a warm, homey, safe, and stimulating environment, and works to support young children to grow, play, and learn -- she is currently seeking her Child Development Associate Degree in infant and toddler care. The daycare is very small in terms of enrollment (maximum enrollment of 6 children), allowing for a lot of care and attention to be provided to your child (by Ms. Johra and her assistant teacher). What makes a Child Development Home unique is that your child will be able to form a close bond with his/her teachers, since they won't be transitioning between different teachers and classrooms, as they sometimes do in centers (and best practices show that "continuity of care" is hugely beneficial for young children -- the same caregiver over time). This bond can help your child to feel safe and nurtured, and allows for their social-emotional growth and development.
