About the business
Familiar Spaces LLC is a home cleaning business that aims to help seniors and their caregivers (and animal companions) keep a clean, joyful, healthy space. I developed my concept after my dad died in May of 2024. When I came home to help my mom go through his things, I noticed that some cleaning tasks were more challenging for her to do.
While I welcome folks without pets, I hope to take on clients with animal companions who would benefit from cleanings that could help them keep their pets in their homes, even when mobility becomes more challenging.
I come to this work with years of experience in residential home cleaning, animal shelter caregiving, and animal death guide work.
I have worked at residential cleaning companies off and on since 2010.
I have over 6 years of experience caring for companion animals in homes and animal shelters as a vet assistant and kennel technician.
I became a certified death doula through CareDoula School of Accompanying the Dying in 2018.
I have supported many foster and hospice pets and stray and owned animal companions as they pass on.
I'm also in the process of becoming a certified animal chaplain and will receive my ordination in June 2025.
