My elderly aunt stayed at Evening Star. Having had both my mother and sister in regular nursing homes for years I can tell your this place is hands down superior.
They always took good care of her. She was always clean and the resident sitting around the house looked clean too. She never had a complaint. Since it's small, max about 20 resident, she received much more personalized care too. For example. I live out of town and when I'd send my aunt a gift someone there would help write and send a thank-you note! Never had that any place else. The people were always friendly when we came to the door for a visit or even if I called and they had to take the phone to her.

The only negative for us was there was no where to park the car to pick her up or bring her back near the door without steps. You end up taking up half the street on a downhill curve, which isn't the safest, especially with the elderly who move slowly.
I'm also not sure what they do for enrichment (games, crafts, music), if any, because I didn't see it, but also wasn't there that often. My family who was there were often were very happy with her care.

As a traveling nurse I would rate evening star 5 stars! The quite, clean ,modern caring atomosphere with caring trustworthy staff is something that can be hard to find! Would feel comfortable with having a loved one stay! A stay away home affordable and a choice you will regret!

Evening Star Personal Care Home is a wonderful, patient centered, facility at which the residents receive exceptional care in a family environment. The owner, a registered nurse, keeps the family well-informed at all times and treats each patient with dignity and respect. My father-in-law had the privilege of living there for 15 months until he needed a higher care level. I am a health care professional and expect great care and I was NEVER disappointed.
