Erwin Nursery School

Erwin Nursery School ( ENS ), established in 1959 maintains a tradition of providing a safe, loving, child-centered learning environment for early learners. The school is located in the heart of the Westcott/Syracuse University community and serves Syracuse area preschoolers.

All of our programs provide a comprehensive preschool experience offering a variety of learning methods to develop a wide range of early learning skills. Our purpose is to provide an atmosphere that encourages the social, emotional, physical, and the intellectual growth and development of the child as a whole.

Our integrated, play-based curriculum focuses on a monthly theme that incorporates hands on learning in, Math, Science, Literacy skills, Social Studies, Fine Motor Skills/Handwriting, Cooking, Art, Music and Movement Activities. A daily schedule is followed and balances teacher directed learning with discovery centers throughout the classroom that offer children a wide variety of choices and play experiences. Each activity is matched to the characteristic ages and stages of ability for the age group, as well as the individual child.
