I am a mature, reliable 30-year-old female and I hold over 17 years experience with children ranging from infants to children over 12 years of age. I spent many years helping my friend who was a single mother raise her girls, who are now in high school. I worked at an in home day care center for over six years. My job responsibilities included, but were not limited to: meal preparation, bottle feeding, diaper changing, potty training, administering medicine as requested by parents, preparing activities for each age group, singing, reading, field trips, engaging in floor play with the younger children, assisting school aged children with homework and playing outdoor activities with the older kids. I was certified in infant and toddler First Aid and CPR during this time. I am willing to update First Aid and CPR certification! I have a 14-year-old step-daughter, I have been raising her since she was 5 years old. Furthermore, I have always been there for my now 10-year-old niece and 5-year-old Godchild on a regular basis. My most recent experience was caring for a 2-year-old little boy which just recently ended a week ago after the child's mother lost her job and decided to take early maternity leave for her third child. My duties included preparing meals, changing diapers and potty training, organize and create educational things to do as well as fun activities. While he napped, I washed dishes, put away toys and many other tasks relating to caring for this little boy. I am currently taking classes online for a degree in Psychology. I am a patient and nurturing person and many people have entrusted the lives of their children with me for this reason. When a parent requests my help in caring for their children they become my top priority. I feel that every child should have someone close to them who is there for them when mommy or daddy cannot be. I love that feeling of accomplishment when I am able to help a family in need. I am a very motivated individual. I feel I can accomplish any task given and I am a very neat person and don't mind doing dishes and some cleaning while the kids are napping, if you wish.
