East Valley (EV) Tutors was established by Master Tutor and credentialed teacher Melissa Twine, with the goal of making a difference in the community...beginning with education. As a former classroom teacher, she sees the need for struggling students to have one-on-one help from professional teachers who have been trained in many different instruction methods, approaches, remediation techniques, and learning style identification standards. It is clear that teachers who are still in the classroom are taxed to the breaking point already, and although many would love to offer help outside of school hours, their responsibilities do not allow it. The need, however, is not going anywhere. Enter EV Tutors into the Maricopa County communities.

We are a group of certified teachers with years of real classroom teaching experience under our belts who are currently out of the teacher workforce pool, in order to be home to homeschool our own children. This gives us the unique opportunity to fill the needs of our own, plus have time and energy enough to tutor and begin to fill the needs of others. Our goal is to see immediate progress, immediate academic improvement, and ultimately the return of the joy of learning for students who are struggling.


We have perfected a simple set of evaluation tools in each subject that are used to assess the current knowledge base of each student, and establish a starting point for filling in gaps and moving forward with success. We are not simply homework helpers, but trained and certified teachers, equipped with both the ability and experience to dig deep and find the reasons help is needed...and then we TEACH.
