About the business
I began my journey into dyslexia education about 5 years ago when I discovered that my now 10-year-old daughter is dyslexic. As I was searching for information and help, I discovered how little of both were actually out there. As an educator and homeschooling parent myself, I decided to learn how to give her the assistance she needed on my own. I have been teaching with the Barton Reading and Spelling system ever since.
My experience with children and education dates back to high school when I nannied for several families. I received a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Saint Louis University in 2000, and have taught preschool through high school-aged children in various settings and capacities. I have also been a homeschooling mother to my four children for nearly 11 years.
My hope for the learners I work with is to restore or inspire a love of reading, renew confidence, discover strengths, recognize (and overcome) hardships, and embrace their own personal gifts.
