Dana Julia Vass has been a private vocal instructor in the Long Island area for over eight years, and for over five years has been teaching in and around Huntington. Currently enrolled in Hofstra's Master of Science Music Education program, she has earned over 90 credits and has successfully completed the Level I Orff-Schulwerk Teacher Training Program.

Dana is a NYSSMA specialist with seven years of experience in Levels I-VI, and All State. She has written a ten week sight singing curriculum for each NYSSMA level. Her NYSSMA students perform songs from musical theatre and in varying languages such as Italian, Latin, French, Spanish and German arias, and American Art Songs. All of her students since 2005 have achieved Outstanding and no less than Excellent NYSSMA scores.

Dana's interest and ability in multiple genres from pop to jazz, classical and others, has lead to performances in such venues as the Nutty Irishman, Reflections Bar and Lounge, The Tilles Center, and C Note Cafe. She has appeared several times in Aural Fix magazine and her songs have been played on the radio. Dana is also a published songwriter and BMI member.

Genres of study include musical theatre, classical, pop, country, rock, as well as songwriting and guitar. All lessons are specially designed for each student to guide them on the pursuit of their goals.
