About the business
Testimonial and Results - Tarcia Simon
I highly recommend Dr. Wren as a math tutor. She is awesome. She helped me tremendously in my statistics course. She is easily accessible, explains the material, and is available to ask questions via text. She came highly recommended by a classmate and was truly a Godsend to me. I looked forward to our sessions knowing that I would learn new information and gain a better understanding of this difficult course. I would recommend her to anyone that needs extra help in math. You will not be disappointed. Grade - A.

That's a testimonial from a very satisfied student.
Hello. I am Dr. Wren. I provide K-16 math tutoring services for all levels of mathematics except geometry.
I am a former item writer for the ACT and a current answer key reviewer for the ACT. I am a published author of empirical educational research and a college/university instructor.
After teaching mathematics for 20 years and being asked repeatedly for private tutoring sessions, I realized I could be more helpful to students as a private tutor for two reasons.
First, 50% or more of first-time college students place into developmental mathematics. As a former K-12 teacher and current college/university instructor, I see why high school students fall through the cracks in college. And, it's not high school that is the problem. It is the whole K-12 mathematics curriculum and teaching pedagogy that produces high rates of high school students placing into developmental mathematics. My goal as a private tutor is to correct that.
Second, a math class tends to strike fear into the heart of every student young and old. Because of this, I see my role as a supportive partner to my students and not just someone imparting information. Putting my students at ease and reassuring them that they can be successful in their math course goes a long way to actually producing the desired results.
