About the business
Dogs Rule Inn is my home; shared with my husband, myself, and my 2 dogs, Colt & Layla. I have been caring for dogs for 30+ years. Colt & Layla love meeting & making new friends and are quick to welcome each new "guest" & show them the lay of the land. **(see note)
During their stay here, be it a day, overnight, a week or longer, your "baby" becomes part of our family. They have the freedom to roam, cuddle up with me on the couch, sleep wherever they like, play, run, sniff, swim and receive lots of TLC and attention. I don't work outside of my home, so I have lots of time to spoil and share with your dog. I limit the # of guests to 3-4 in addition to my 2, depending on the temperament and personality of all dogs here at any given time. I enjoy making my own dog treats, and follow all individual instructions regarding outside time, feeding, habits, medications, etc.to ensure the well being of your 4 legged fur baby! You're responsible for bringing their food, their crate (if they use one), bedding and a favorite toy; though there are plenty of beds & toys here. Toys do become communal property, so you may want to consider leaving them at home. When you call to arrange a meeting, I want to learn as much as possible about your dog, nothing is irrelevant or unimportant, information is invaluable to me. My goal is to make your time away as enjoyable as possible by providing a safe, happy & loving time for your dog. References are available from past and present clients alike.
Once a dog has been here a time or two, I'm told many become excited the moment they see their gear get packed! My pleasure is when you return & find a happy, content pup.
*NOTE: Before any dog comes for his/her stay, I require that you bring them for an initial visit; to meet my dogs, check out the property, get a bit acclimated with the surroundings so the "drop off day" is less stressful for them (and you)!
I also require owners to sign a medical release/authorization which will allow me to have your dog treated should he/she become sick or hurt while in my care. I accept drop offs and pickups year round, including holidays. We try to plan our vacation when business is slower; typically Sept or Oct and do my best to be available for my clients. I am flexible with drop off and pickup times, usually between 8:30 AM -9 PM. I happily send pics and updates of the fun your dog is having so you can relax & enjoy your time away, knowing he or she is having fun too!

I LOVED Barbara and Frank! I was worried and torn having to leave my 6 month old pup in a kennel for a week. I was actually referred by a well known kennel in my town they said she's the best. So I called her up we did two meet and greets and was not disappointed! So sweet, plenty to do and my pup was able to get in some new socializing skills with his new fur family and friends! Barbara was always filling me in on the days events and sent pictures. My dog was a happy camper and we already have plans to have my dog and his new fur friends meet up for a play date. I couldn't be more grateful and happy that a found such a great caretaker and one i can trust! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Dogs rule Inn is great! My dog had the best time. Barbara was great with my dog Lingo. He loved the homemade treats and loved all the other dogs that were visiting. I especially liked receiving photos and updates about his visit.. I would definitely use them again.

Got reference from neighbor. I'm very please with Barbara and Frank care of your Doberman . Went to Germany for to week they sent pic and texts of how your dog was doing which put your mind at ease . good job Barbara and Frank

We found Barbara and Frank because we didn't want to leave our dog, Layla, in a kennel for a long period of time when we were going on a long vacation last year. From the very first time that we met them, we knew that Layla was in great hands. We did an a few meet and greets before going away because our rescue dog is very timid around new people but Barbara And frank knew exactly how to introduce themselves. We were sent so many pictures and videos of Layla while we were away and we're pleased to even find out that Barabara makes homemade treats throughout the stay too! We've had Layla stay at Dogs Rule Inn many times now and Layla has such a great time that she doesn't want to come home when we're back! They are extremely accommodating and we would highly recommend them!

Dogs Rule Inn is a dependable, comfortable, caring home for your pets.
If we can't take our dogs with us on vacation, we bring them to Barbara at Dogs Rule Inn. After our initial meeting, I felt so relieved knowing that our pups would be cared for by a true dog lover, in the house and as part of the family. Barbara is accustomed to working with dogs and their differing personalities and needs; she cares for them lovingly; and she even updates us throughout their stay. We have used her numerous times for short and long trips. We never worry about them, knowing they are having a great time on their own vacation!!

I had never left our Dolly anywhere outside of our home for 6 years of her life when we needed to find a sitter for her. I am so impressed with the way Barbara got back to me so fast and explained everything and we set up a meet and greet. I was a bit nervous of how it would go. It went great. Dolly spent a 3 day weekend and there were a few new friends staying too so there was a small group which was a new experience for her also. I was so worried about if she would eat well and sleep well. Barbara kept in touch with me and kept me up to date on how well it was going. All around wonderful experience and we will be back again now that we have our comfy place to stay with no worries.. I highly recommend Dogs Rule Inn to anyone looking for a caring loving place for your fur babies to stay. Thank you Barbara and Frank for loving our Dolly and all the pets in your care like they are your own :)

I have (2) dogs that were recently cared for at Dogs Rule Inn. One of them is diabetic and needs an insulin injection 2X a day. Barbara was absolutely the best person for the job. She is caring, compassionate provided daily updates, suggestions and is just a very passionate animal lover. I trust her implicitly with my dogs. She just really knows what shes doing and I felt comfortable from the start when we first went for intros before the actual drop off day. You will not be disappointed by the care your buddies receive. Having a diabetic dog was limiting time I could be spend away on day trips now I know where to turn!

We have been so lucky to have found Barbara and her family to take care of Cooper. We can be away and be totally at ease. She is a wonderful dog care provider totally having their well being in mind. We will certainly be using her services again and also recommending her to others.

I feel so lucky to have found The Dogs Rule Inn. After touring area kennels, I felt sad to leave my dog in that kind of environment since he is used to having the run of our house and not being in a confined area. Thankfully, someone suggested Barbara at the Dogs Rule Inn. The Dogs Rule Inn is the best option for our dog since it is a family home and not a kennel. Barbara makes sure our dog has the best experience while we are on vacations. I never have to worry because I know he is having the time of his life. He gets to swim in their stream and play with their family pet. If I miss my pet, she is just a phone call/text away. Very personal care and I highly recommend.

Dogs Rule Inn is the ONLY place to leave your dog while you're away. I can travel without worrying since I know my dog is treated like a member of the family, has quality care and plenty of exercise. My dog literally jumps out of my car when we arrive she is so excited to explore again. No heart wrenching goodbyes here! Dogs Rule Inn provides a happy home away from home for my dog. I also appreciate that pick-up and drop-off times can be flexible when needed.

Dogs Rule Inn is the best! We needed help after our 1 year old Bernese Mountain Dog named Bruno had a broken leg. Barbara was a lifesaver to Bruno and my husband and me! Not only did she help us out but she also had very useful suggestions for us, and she brought Bruno so much comfort during this difficult time. Since then, we've moved several times and don't live nearby, but we still call upon Barbara whenever we need someone to watch Bruno. We never have to worry about him because we know he's having a blast playing in her big yard with her dogs. He loves it so much and he gets to go on his own doggy vacation! Barbara truly has a special gift and love for our furry four legged friends and will treat your dog like her own.

Dogs Rule Inn is the absolute best place to leave your dog when you are away. My dog is treated like part of the family while he is there and I never have to worry about him. They love animals and devote so much time and energy caring for the pets...she even makes homemade dog treats. I highly recommend Dogs Rule Inn if you want the best care possible, complete peace of mind, and a very affordable price.
