Discovery Rainbow Home Day Care & Preschool

With over thirty years of childcare experience Discovery Rainbow Home Daycare was started by my wife Jennie in November of 2002. When she was younger Jennie started out helping her mom with child care in their home eventually moving on to hold positions at various centers around the area and as a private nanny. Jennie has also taught preschool and children's art classes at the Downers Grove Park District.

Leaving a managerial position at the University of Illinois at Chicago her husband Jim started staying home and working full time with the daycare in 2004. This was for business reasons as well as us expecting our first child and we both wanted to spend as much time with our children growing up as possible. We also wanted to provide the best possible care for our client's children as well as our own and we decided both of us at home together would be the best answer to this goal.

We are both in our forties and have a teenage son and daughter who home school as well as two cute puppies Jamie Grace and Jerome which are Shiatsu/Maltese mix. We have no other permanent staff but may employ a third assistant in the summers & when needed as well as having Jen's sister help or sub for one of us from time to time.

We care for and educate children six weeks to six years. Striving to provide the best environment and activities to prepare your child(ren) to eventually graduate to kindergarten.

We try to create a very open and friendly relationship with our daycare parents and refer to all our clients as our "Daycare Family". We TRY to have a special event once a year where parents can meet and get to know each other and the other children. Many of our families become friends outside of day care as well as in.
