Developmental Growing Child Care

I am experienced professional with over 14 years, providing service and support to the public. I grew up with a big family so I started childcare, early by watching my cousins. My first official childcare was at Lincoln Intermediate Unit No. 12 in York, PA, where I was a substitute teacher assistant. I worked with a variety of children with behaviors and special needs. I learned various technics to help children through their challenges. Then I worked at Wellspan Health Child Care Center in York, PA while I was attending Community College of Baltimore County for American Sign Language Interpreter, then transferred to Rochester Institute of Technology for Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I studied child development as one of my courses. I was capable to use my education and experience at the Children s Center of Brighton in Rochester, NY. I took care of children, age range 4 mos.  5 yrs. old. I establish a routine in the classroom and kept documentation. I helped children learn active new skills and knowledge, from conducting activities according to developmental level. I work at The Arc of NEPA in Scranton, PA. I started out as a Residential Assistant before becoming the CLA Supervisor. I was able to improved clients quality of life; identified clients needs and pursued appropriate resources to alleviate issues. Started my four special needs individuals in Special Olympics and planned learning experience events in the community. I provided transportation, organized daily records, and minister medications. I also attain 24 hours of various trainings on behavior and stress management; including Fire Safety, CPR and First Aid. While working at The Arc, I attended Baptist Bible College and Seminary for Master of Art in Family Counseling. I recently delivered my first child and torn about returning back to the workplace. I love my job, but I can t tear myself away from my loving baby. I would wish to stay home and take care of children. Through my experience I enhanced my personal qualities as being attentive, great listening, and smooth-natured. I have been responsible for young children and four adults with special needs. I live in a smoke-free house with one dog and cat. I have a vehicle for transportation if needed. I am not a teacher, but will to help out with homework.
