About the business
Desperate Paws of Orange County offers a unique daily dog service program, with two different plans, to best meet your pet's needs. They are the Three Day Plan and the Five Day Plan which are completely all-inclusive. We also offer overnight stays and a puppy plan. Unlike all other pet services available, we do not itemize and charge for each individual service being provided (such as poop scooping, brushing, walking, pet taxi, field trips, pet food delivery, etc.).
Included within these plans is a daily pick up of your pet at your home. Our animal friends are out of the house for at least 3 to 4 hours a day going on doggy friendly field trips in the South Orange County area. This time out of the home is essential for a healthy and happy dog. Dogs are pack animals and need to socialize. Some pet services feel that a 15-30 minute walk is adequate. Would you want to only be allowed out of the house for 15-30 minutes a day? With our service this is not the case. Each day is spent out with other dogs and humans in public places, working on basic obedience, socialization, and exercise. These are key to the mental health of your dog. Without these key components in a dog's life behavior issues can and often do arise. Most of these behavior issues are from a direct result of boredom. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
In the morning when your dog is picked up he/she receives nothing but the finest love and care possible. All transportation of our friends is done with comfort and safety in mind. They ride in an air conditioned/heated Eddie Bauer Expedition with safety as our utmost concern. Small dogs are placed in pet carriers with squishy soft blankets for comfort and added security. Large breed dogs ride in the back, secured by a pet gate, with blankets for added comfort. All dogs receive purified water from our Brita filtration system to help ensure health. Nothing is too good for our pawed friends.
Additionally, each day our furry friends will be brushed, poop will be scooped and removed from the premises, food and water will be supplied, along with tons of love. They will work on basic obedience training and continual reinforcement of proper behavior. This is extremely important as nothing can be more difficult to handle at times than a dog which can not obey simple commands such as heel, sit, stay, come and stand. We have found that properly trained dogs are greatly more enjoyable than ones that aren't. It's a wonderful thing to take a walk around Balboa Island and dine at "Wilma's Patio" and not have to worry about your pet's behavior. Also being out in public with your furry friend at places such as "Fashion Island", "Starbucks" or other places frequently visited by people requires that such socialization and basic obedience be reinforced over and over daily.
You will also receive many additional personal services included with your plan. These services will save you countless hours and money each month.
