Davis Pre-k Academy

I am Amber Garrison Davis and I love having my own in-home preschool. I am a fully certified teacher with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and am currently working on my Early Childhood add-on at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I have 5 years of experience teaching in public schools and am extremely passionate about children and early education. Because young children are growing and changing at a phenomenal rate, I believe that early education is critical. I strongly believe in allowing children to learn through play, small groups, and individualized instruction in order to reach each child's individual needs. I also believe it is important to teach the whole child to include social, emotional, and academic skills; each of them being equally important. As a parent myself I realize the importance of you and your child feeling respected and cared for. At Davis Pre-K Academy, the safety and well being of all of the children I provide care for is extremely important to me.
Activities are both teacher and child initiated. I provide hands on activities to include: manipulatives, painting, arts and crafts, books, blocks, imaginative play, learning games, and so much more!
Davis Pre-K Academy is an in-home preschool with a very small number of children allowing more small group and individualized instruction to help better meet each child's needs.
As the founder and teacher at Davis Pre-K Academy, you are receiving Pre-K education from a fully licensed teacher. As such, I am required to attend regular professional development sessions to improve my practices that will be implemented in your child's classroom. I also have valuable classroom and assessment experience in grades Pre-K-5th grade.
Davis Pre-K Academy is fully licensed as a children s program through the state of North Carolina.
Davis Pre-K Academy utilizes different assessments to personalize instruction for your child based on his or her specific learning needs.
Davis Pre-K Academy has adopted the Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum that will be embedded into daily lesson plans, circle time, centers, in-house virtual field trip experiences etc. that will aid in the social, emotional, and academic development of your child, adequately preparing him/her for Kindergarten.
Davis Pre-K Academy is inspected regularly for appropriate teaching, as well as for sanitation and fire safety by the state of NC.
