Dandelion Daycare

We are a play-based Waldorf inspired daycare with a strong emphasis on respect, warmth, rhythm and play based exploration. We hope to be a home away from home for your infants and toddlers.

I firmly believe that what the young child needs most are nurturing relationships. When a child feels safe and cared for, they can move forward with confidence to learn about the world. And so, at Dandelion daycare our goal is to create a haven for children where they are nurtured, loved and allowed to be themselves.

It s from this place of security and warmth that the child begins his journey of discovery. At my home, we know that children learn best from real-life experiences. Just what is a child learning as he helps me bake muffins or fold the laundry? Measuring, counting, following directions, nutrition, sorting, color recognition, the process of following a task through to completion, and language skills.

I have worked with preschool age children in a Waldorf school for the last 4 years. In that time I have also become Lifeways trained, focusing on younger children and creating warm home environments. I firmly believe that rhythm, warmth, and nature are essential to raising balanced and empathetic human beings. As a new parent myself I know the struggle it can be to place your child in the care of someone new. That is why my daycare is as homelike as possible, to create easy transitions and a warm environment.
