About the business
I love all animals! I always have. When I was the girl growing up, that would feed and give water or milk to all the strays - cats, dogs, whatever else wandered into our yard in the country. I would also leave blankets out for them so they wouldn't get cold. My dad would always shake his head and tell me to stop doing that or we would have all the strays in the neighborhood coming around. We even ended up with a fox one day. It turned out not to be a wild fox, but a neighbor's pet from up the road. But, none the less, I left food and water out for it until morning.
Now, all grown up, I have voluntarily cared for many of my family and friends' furry children. From my conversations with many of these friends and family members, I have come to the conclusion there is a huge need for a caring, loving, and safe environment for your pets. Therefore, with the full support and assistance of my husband, I have started Crissy's Critter Cottage out of our home. We are here to offer you a piece of mind while you are away.
My husband and I have 2 two-legged children, along with our 3 four-legged children. We have two mini-schnauzers and a black and tan coonhound.
We live in Ostrander; right on the Delaware County/Union County line. Our home is on almost 3 acres. Our entire back yard is fenced. Within our fenced backyard, we have a smaller fenced area with two kennels. The kennels are attached to a barn, with in/out accessibility. Our barn is 14x16, is insulated, has electricity and can be heated in the winter. Pets, on the smaller side, may be able to live in the house, provided they are child friendly. I do not believe in "caging" animals, so we offer a "cage-free" environment for our outdoor friends. Our outdoor guests will have full access to the kennel area with the separate play area (approximately 30x30). Because your pet is "cage-free" he/she has the opportunity to play when he/she wants or nap when he/she wants. We do have "kennels"; however, in most circumstances, the gates will remain open.
I am a full time stay at home mom. Additionally, I babysit the human kind on a part-time basis. Weather permitting, I love to play outside with all of the children, the human kind and the furry kind. I believe all children should have ample exercise. Therefore, when I am watching your furry child(ren) they will have access to the full back yard in addition to the kennel area.
