Country In The City Care

Who doesn't love summer vacation? Outdoor play, play clothes, and happy hearts. But finding childcare for your school-aged child can be a challenge.

My name is Emily and I'm a German teacher August through May. But come summer, I'm a mom on a mission to have the best summer possible through outdoor adventures, exploring the neighborhood, and creative play.

I have two sons. My eldest is headed to first grade and my youngest is going into Kindergarten. They have a LOT of energy and I like to keep them hopping My hobbies include gardening, cooking, walking Uptown, visiting the park, crafting, and much more.

Our home is an oasis in the city--we are a few minutes walk from Uptown, but our nearly 2 acres is secluded and backs up to Alum Creek. We daily have deer in our back yard. The fences section is a safe and secure place to play, complete with jungle gym, swing set, rock box, sand pit, climbing dome, strawberry and berry patch, fruit trees, flowers, and more. Don't send your child in their finest duds--dirt is a guarantee!

I'm looking to take on 3-4 children this summer as playmates for my own sons. My summer break is June 3-August 9. I am available Monday-Friday 7am-6pm from June 3-August 9. I will be unavailable July 4 and July 31-Aug 2.

Children must be potty trained and be able to use the bathroom independently. They must be up-to-date on all vaccinations. They must be able to feed themselves (more or less) and play well with other children and dogs.

I will provide breakfast, morning snack, hot lunch, afternoon snack, and drinks. If your child has an allergy or dietary restriction that is easily managed, I ask that you provide food to accommodate. Those with severe anaphylactic allergies, such as to peanuts or gluten, unfortunately cannot be accommodated as we have these products in our home. We also have 2 friendly dogs, so anyone with allergies wouldn't be happy in our home. My key priority is to make sure children are safe.

Daily rate is $50 per child paid weekly. Daily fee due for all scheduled days even if child leaves early, comes late, or doesn't come. Scheduled late pickups/evening babysitting is $10 an hour per child. Late fee of $1 a minute applies after 6pm to unscheduled late pickups. Multiple unscheduled late pickups will result in termination of contract.
