As a speech-language-literacy specialist, I provide reading and writing instruction to school-age individuals who are struggling with the English alphabetic code. Some students have difficulty learning how to read efficiently when instructed in a classroom. Most people who struggle with learning to read/spell have dyslexia and their prior instruction has not helped them to become fluent readers. I have been specially educated to help dyslexic individuals who haven't learned rudimentary decoding skills or adequate comprehension skills. I have been instructing/tutoring students with speech/language/literacy deficits for nearly 40 years. In addition to direct clinical experience, I'm a published author and international lecturer on these topics. My first interest, however, is providing individualized instruction to children who are struggling in school. The kids and their parents marvel at the transformation from feeling discouraged to feeling confident. References are available.
