Hi, my name is Carol Lynn! I am happily married, a proud mom of three wonderful kids and a pet-parent to one awesome dog and two cool cats. We are a family of animal lovers who are very serious about animal care, health and safety, and we continuously educate ourselves through books, videos and classes. Over the years we have rescued injured and abandoned animals, fostered, taken in strays and volunteered in shelters. This is how we became pet-parents to most of our pets.
I began professionally caring for pets in 1998 when a colleague of mine asked me for help with her growing pet-sitting business. My children were very young at the time, and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to begin sharing my love of animals with them while teaching them to be responsible pet owners. I enthusiastically agreed to help, and soon after, we were caring for pets both in our home and in our client's homes. My family was exposed to a variety of different pets and breeds, and we bonded with each and every one. It was a fun and educational job for all of us.
Two years later, my friend needed to dissolve her business and move out of state. I knew I wanted to continue pet sitting, so I decided to keep my clients and grow my own business from there. The rest is history, and to date, we've cared for dozens of pets while gaining the trust of many pet-parents. I am proud to say that over time, our business has grown mainly through the referrals of happy clients~ Many of whom we have known since day one, and through the lifetimes of multiple pets.
Despite our growth, we are still a small, family operated business. I don't hire employees as I prefer to be personally involved in the care of each pet that is entrusted to me and my family. My husband, my kids and my mom are all involved, and we care for each pet as if they are our own.
Now that my children are grown and either in college or almost there, I have a lot more time to devote myself to this passion. I started Comfortable K9s in an effort to reach out to other pet-parents who may be searching for a loving sitter to care for their loved ones when they are unable to. My hope is to continue to grow and to offer new clients the same compassionate pet care I have given to many others for nearly 20 years.
