Greeings Lexington Families!

My name is Niah and I am currently finishing up my degree in Early Childhood Education, while living in Lexington with my 2.5 year old son. This summer I am offering a variety of services to meet the unique needs of diverse families. Whether you are looking for art classes, school readiness tutoring, or full time/part-time care for your child(ren), I will do more than sit and watch- I will actively engage your child. I offer a safe, nurturing, and stimulating home-school environment equipped with multiple learning centers, essential to a child's optimal development in all domains.

The Guidance Strategy, Developmentally Appropriate Practice, and Positive Discipline are aspects of my educational philosophy, all of which is rooted in the Ethical Code developed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Curriculum is integrated using current knowledge and evidence-based practices, and is guided by child-directed interests, while opportunities for creative and novel experiences are provided to challenge and stimulate their natural tendency for exploration of the world around them.

I am not only committed to helping children thrive, but as a single mom and community advocate, I am committed to working with the family unit as a whole. You know your child best, and I welcome your input and feedback and will encourage collaboration in goal setting in addition to providing you progress reports. I am purposeful in the arrangement of my materials, learning centers, and activities to accommodate different stages of growth and to enhance school readiness skills (eg., emerging literacy, mathematics, etc.) I maintain low ratios to ensure not only compliance with state regulations to maintain child safety, but to ensure competence in my ability to meet the individual needs of each child.

Summer enrollment is officially open now! (Fall enrollment will begin in August).
