Colonial Nursery School

We believe that preschoolers learn best through play. Our Reggio Emilia-inspired classrooms are child-centered and full of child-directed play. Our teachers are trained to create environments and experiences that are developmentally appropriate and to provide unique and creative opportunities for our students to play and interact with their environment and one another. We embrace the arts and sciences through hands-on exploration in art, dance, drama, music, math and science. Our teachers help children reach their potential through a learning environment that piques curiosity and supports the building of knowledge in all areas of development. Classrooms, indoors and out, reflect an environment that changes with the seasons and children's interests.

CNS is a community. As a cooperative school, we embrace the involvement of families to take active roles in their children's education. Parent education, school jobs, special events, and co-oping in the classroom support our goal of bringing parents, children, and teachers together.
