Colleen's Daycare

- I have been a licensed childcare provider for 10 years, and have two children of my own.

- I have a set up in my home specifically for my child care business, and provide a wide variety of toys and activities for children 6 weeks - 6 years old.

- I have an adult helper (my daughter) who has four years of experience with children and was a nanny for multiple families prior to working with me. Like me, she is very passionate about providing the best care possible for the children in our care!

- During the school year, my adult helper and I teach a preschool curriculum to the children who are 3+ in our care. The curriculum that we use is called Mother Goose Time. "As children participate in Mother Goose Time, they are naturally exposed to skills which support their on-going social-emotional, physical, language and cognitive development. These skills, when combined with a nurturing environment, intentional teaching practices, and meaningful relationships support a child's school readiness." (mothergoosetime.com)

- Other daily activities that we do include music and dancing time, reading/story time, free-play and sensory play.

- I live right behind a fantastic park, and in a very quiet, safe neighborhood. When it is nice out, we try to get outside daily.

- I follow the food program.

- I (and my helper) take a wide variety of early childhood education and child development classes each year (in addition to the required childcare classes).

- I am very passionate about what I do and consider myself to be "home away from home" for the kids in my care!
