Christine's Playcare

Christine's Playcare has been in business since 1992 and offers parents an alternative to conventional babysitting or institutionalized daycare centers. An entire floor of my home has been turned into a dedicated child care center, separate from my family's living quarters. Included within the child care space are nap rooms, a large playroom, a full kitchen as well as a bathroom.

My program offers a learning environment that includes weekly themes and daily activities comprised of story time, circle time, mini- and mass motor skills, environmental education, art projects and music. I also have a large fenced in yard with plenty of outdoor play equipment for developing children's gross motor skills.

Since I am registered with 4C--Comprehensive Community Child Care--I have passed rigid standards for home and fire safety, first-aid procedures, and household health standards, as well as having an annual check-up where a physician attests to the fact that I am physically and mentally healthy and able to care for your child. I continually attend day care seminars that target child development, age appropriate activities, proper nutrition, parent/provider interaction and professional business practices as well as annual re-certification of Infant and Child CPR and First Aid through the American Red Cross. Additionally, to ensure the health and safety of all children in my program, I have health inspections and fire inspections performed in my home each year.

I also participate in the National Child Care Food Program, so I feed 3 meals to children every day: Each breakfast is comprised of servings of a bread component, fruit and milk. Lunches include components of protein, bread, fruit, vegetable and milk. Each afternoon snack is comprised of any two of the four food groups (milk, bread, fruit/vegetable or protein). I pride myself on healthy meals that are fresh and homemade, using only whole foods and natural ingredients--no boxed mixes, conventionally prepared or processed foods will be served to children in my care.

Menus are included every day on a report comprised of our activities as well as your child's accomplishments, along with a collection of photos taken throughout the day that I text to parents each day while the children are all down for afternoon naps.
