1st Annual Chess Leadership Program!
Learn to play or improve your chess game while building skills in the areas of leadership and future entrepreneurship! This is the only chess program in the city which is designed to not only teach and improve the student's chess game, but also provide valuable life lessons, leadership skills, and develop a future entrepreneurial mind of the students using the game of chess as the primary platform.
The chess leadership course will be taught by USCF-certified District Chess coach Rafi C. Rafi has been coaching chess in the city for over 7 years. He has developed a sound understanding of the fundamentals of chess education and has devised this new 10-week program in order to incorporate leadership skills into chess education. With a peak USCF rating of 1900 in chess, degree in Psychology, and independent study of entrepreneurship, Rafi plans to create an environment which allows students to attain a deep passion for the game of chess as well as develop leadership skills and an entrepreneurial mind.
Registration: $70/student (discounts available if more than one student)
Beginners will have fun learning how to play this royal game
More advanced players will study openings, middle game strategies, endgame tactics, and chess psychology
All students will gain a better understanding of leadership development as well as exposure to development of an entrepreneurial mind
Students will follow a schedule which includes supervised chess play, in-house tournament, lectures, community chess involvement, and loads of fun!
There will be a free trial class on Wednesday, August 27th. All interested students and parents are encouraged to attend! Regular classes will begin on Wednesday, September 3rd and end on Wednesday, November 5th.
