Awful doesn't begin to cover it. This was our first experience with Checkmaid, and it was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Our appointment was scheduled for 2:30. At 2:50, I decided to check the website and see what the appointment "window" was. A chat box popped up, and I asked "Molly" for that information. She told me there was a half hour window, but that she would check with the team. I was then assured they would be there in 10-15 minutes ("No later.").

Finally, they arrived at 3:25. I opened the door and was met with a blank stare. I asked "Are you from Checkmaid?" The reply - "Yes," as though I had personally insulted her. She then went BACK to the car to get supplies...after arriving almost an hour late. At one point, it was explained that their previous job had run late, but never once was the word "sorry" uttered. We let them in, then left with our dog to get out of the way.

We arrived home 3 hours later. Nothing had been done. No note, no phone call, no email. We called customer service and were told that the cleaners claimed the apartment had a "stench" and that they were "worried it wasn't healthy." They also claimed they tried to contact us. All of which are simply not true. My guess is that, when employees get called out on being late and rude, they make up lies so that they don't have to come back - Checkmaid guarantees you get the same cleaner every time. I'm told we were provided with a refund, and that a supervisor would contact us "soon." It hasn't been long, but I haven't seen either, and the completely inappropriate actions of their employees don't seem to be a major concern.

Many other reviews are positive. My guess is that those people had their cleaners arrive on time, or didn't plan their day around the scheduled appointment.

I would say 0 stars if I could. NEVER use Checkmaid, especially if you value customer service or don't have time to waste. A disgusting experience.

Leaving this for the move out cleaning they did on 6/18. Susan and George are probably two of the best cleaners in Phila. They stayed six hours working on a four bedroom home and it looked beautiful when finished - we almost wanted to move back in! Thank you very much for the great service.
