The programs of Chai Preschool & Infant Center arise from a common desire for excellence in meeting the needs of children and their families. Our philosophy is one of nurturing growth and development, relationships and understanding – all in the goal of establishing a love for learning, and a passion to approach the world’s diversity and culture with a positive outlook.

At Chai Preschool & Infant Center we welcome each child regardless of background, religion or affiliation. We believe each child learns best in an environment that is rich in hands on experiences. We provide for the physical, intellectual and emotional growth of the children through activities that are child directed and teacher guided. Children are encouraged to use their senses to explore, experiment and use their imagination to the fullest. Through dramatic play, visual aides, manipulatives and the use of centers within the classroom such as art, science, blocks, math and literacy, children gain readiness skills for future learning. Our staff works closely with each child to help develop their self-esteem through problem solving, encouraging self-expression and offering positive reinforcement.

At Chai Preschool & Infant Center we see each child as a unique and precious gift entrusted into our care. This concept is what governs our school’s educational approach. Our emphasis is placed on the individual child and on encouraging each child’s innate inquisitiveness and thirst for knowledge. Small classes and very low student-teacher ratios ensure each child receives individual and caring attention.

Class ratios:

6wks - 12mos; 3 children with 1 teacher (max 9 children with 3 teachers)

12mos - 2yrs; 3 children with 1 teacher (max 18 children with 6 teachers)

2yrs (transitional classroom); approx. 6 children with 1 teacher (max 12 children with 2 teachers)

2yrs – 3yrs; approx. 6 children with 1 teacher (max 12 children with 2 teachers)

3yrs – 4yrs; approx. 8 children with 1 teacher (max 16 children with 2 teachers)

4yrs – 5yrs; 10 children with 1 teacher (max 20 children with 2 teachers)
