Cedar Hill Prep School

Cedar Hill Prep School is a Preschool - Grade 8 school on a 9 acre picturesque campus with playgrounds and a water park. The Preschool - Kindergarten program facilitates creativity and independence as in Montessori based programs within a supportive and nurturing environment. The goal of the program is to stimulate intellectual and emotional growth within the school.

Our Curriculum
Beginning in Preschool, children learn phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle, vocabulary development, and spelling. This helps students who are English Language Learners and those who are Dyslexic.

Phonemic Awareness helps:
Understand the Alphabetic principle
Notice patterns of letters in words
Decode possible unknown words
Encode words for spelling

Starting in Preschool, students are taught Math with number sense and numeration.
Social Studies and Science are applied to daily life.
Spanish Immersion, Art, Physical Education and Music are taught by specialists.

Clubs
Reading, Dance, Art, and Concert Choir

Performing Arts
Music is part of the curriculum from Preschool through Grade 8.
Students can pick an instrument from Grade 3.
They can take additional voice and instrument lessons after school.
We offer Acapella, Choir, Advanced Choir and CHP Pops.
The Theater Program is available to students from Pre-K through Grade 8. Students perform two events a year.

Pumpkin Picking, Fire Prevention, Thanksgiving Lunch, Holiday Celebrations, Black History Project, Dental Month, International Day, Pets Week, Growing Things, Spring Reading, Magic and Balloon Show, Junior Olympics, Waterpark Play, and Grandparent s Day

All teachers are certified and undergo professional development training every year to upgrade their skills.
