As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, I have experience in skilled nursing facilities, working with low-level patients and giving them and their families the expert care they need to recover and also regain their prior level of function. As Occupational Therapists, we not only concerned with the patient's physical rehabilitation, but the ADL's (activities of daily living) i.e., bed mobility, bathing, dressing, cooking, and all activities that are so important to an individuals sense of well-being and independence. At the same time, we have to treat and incorporate into our recovery plan, the patients illness, such as COPD, TNR, THR, Stroke - and the many other medical comorbidity's that come along with advanced age. I have had excellent reviews from upper level management regarding my proficiency, but more importantly, from the families themselves regarding the warm and attentive care they received under my charge.
