Broadreach Prek At Kermit Nickerson School

The Broadreach Pre K program at the Kermit Nickerson School is open to children living in towns served by Kermit Nickerson Elementary who are four years old on 15th of the current school year. Broadreach PreKs offer a unique Nature Meets Nurture approach to early learning and development. In lively, active-learning settings, both indoors and out, children explore, create, investigate and problem solve. Broadreach is committed to providing children with regular opportunities for immersion in the natural world and interactions with natural and authentic materials. Our nationally recognized curriculum (High Scope) is aligned with Maine's Early Learning Guidelines and Maine DOE Common Core Standards. This curriculum framework provides children with a predictable but flexible structure, ongoing developmental assessment, rigorous academics, innovative physical creative and social activities. Certified teachers offer carefully planned hands-on, primary experiences where learning flourishes, friendships form, and a sense of belonging is carefully nurtured. Children develop sound social understandings through interpersonal and community connections and they experience academic success as they become masters of their own learning.
