Boogaboo Playcare

Thank you for taking the time to consider Boogaboo Playcare for your childcare needs. I am honored that you are thinking about entrusting the care of your precious child(ren) to me.

Boogaboo was created in January 2011, one year after I entered the world of parenthood. My mission is to create an educational, fun, and comfortable atmosphere for all children so their parents can feel confident and relaxed while they are at work.

I believe a child should be a child, and develop confidence through love and exploration. Songs, games, reading, planting and digging in the dirt, art exploration, even helping to bake by mixing ingredients together, and LOTS of hugs.

Background

1993-99 Babysat my younger sister and neighborhood children. During this time I was introduced to special needs childcare
1999-2006 Life guarding and swim lessons, multiple age group and skill levels (including Easter Seals lessons) required me to create interesting and educational lessons
2000-02 Hired by 2 families to nanny ages 4 months to 4 years old
2005 Interned at Walt Disney World for 6 months undergoing extensive training on childcare and Disney standards
2002-06 A nanny for 2 families starting at 6 months until 4 years old, and in the third year both families grew and I began watching their new additions right away
2007-08 Organized and ran take your child to work days and activities for 50 children and teens at corporate office.
2010 Our daughter was born and I took the courses for Oregon Childcare Registry.
2011 Boogaboo Playcare opens
2013 Moved to Portland and began working as a teacher for Healthy Starts Children's Center

April 2014 Our family grew and I realized running my own business, and developing personal relationships with families where we can gear care towards individual needs, opposed to corporate needs, is where my heart is.
