Bonita's Daycare Academy

In 2020 I lost my amazing mother Carmen Bonita Byam. My mother suffered with a rare autoimmune disease, however was capable of obtaining her Master's in Early Childhood Education. My mother's goal was to own her own daycare center. Previously I was working as a teacher and my co-teacher told me that she think I would be a great daycare provider. After three years of experience in teaching, and tutoring I can confirm that my co-worker is accurate. In July 2021 I embarked on starting my own business as becoming a provider.
About me:
I am a single mother with a 6 year old son who is loving. My history of working with children is extensive and is dated back 10 years in total. Previously I was a social work/ case planner at a foster care agency where my goal was to reunify families. During my time at the foster care agency I granted a lot of other opportunities such as tutoring, and assisting with conducting a research with the Center of Disease Control. For the past three years I had been given the opportunity to teach children. Previously I taught mathematics to middle school youth in an underserved community. During my time as a middle school teacher, I was provided the opportunity to be a Grade Chair Lead which was an entry position to Education Administration. I took the opportunity as a teacher and Grade Chair Lead to get parents engaged in their children's education. I currently have my Bachelor's of Science in Public Health, and Master's of Science in Health Administration. I am also currently in school to obtain a degree in nursing. After I am finish with nursing school my goal is to open three daycare sites for early childcare learning.
Bonita's Daycare Academy is an in-home daycare. My aim is to build education, emotional well-being and character. My home is a place where children will feel free as well as safe to play and grow. My goal is to educate children through play and Montessori learning. Children will also have the opportunity to build independency like trying to tie their own shoes! Additionally because my mother Bonita was someone who gave back to her community. I want to do the same by having monthly meetings with parents where we have discussions and they are being catered to while their children are being entertained by each other.
My official opening date of Bonita's Daycare Academy will be November 25, 2021. This date is my mother's birthday and it is in honor of her that I will love and care for children.
