Birdsong: Real Care For Young Children

Are you looking for child care for your new baby, or is your young child's experience in a day care center not what you had expected?

I am offering a high quality child care experience in my modest, but large, one story home on 2 acres right next to Rock Springs Center.

I have a nearly 20 years in education, including 5 years as a reading instructor for an enrichment program, 10 in special education, and 1 in a day care center. I just sent a child off to college, and a child off to farm. The next chapter in my life will involve providing the kind of early childhood experience I wanted for my own.

Child care centers can be very hard on children due to the sheer numbers, limited space, and difficulties of finding good teachers at low pay. Home day care, with a good provider, is the better option. My child care program offers lots of play and education opportunities throughout the day; both indoors and out, in a loving, emotionally safe environment. There is a flexible and balanced schedule. There are a variety of toys, including all the usual early childhood activity centers. I use themes, good books, and the natural world as springboards into daily activities to keep thing fresh and stimulating. Meals and snacks are about good food and warm bellies.
