My entire professional career has been centered around children. I have worked professionally with children and families for over 25 years as a social worker. I worked in foster care for 3 years and in adoption for 22 years. I also ran an in- home daycare for 12 years. I cared for children from infancy to 9 years old. I have 2 grown children and a 2-year-old grandson.

I am opening a Family Day Care in my home starting September, 2013. I want to offer each child in my care a nurturing, stimulating, educational and fun experience. I have lots of equipment that encourages large and small gross motor skills. I have many toys, for all age groups. I offer many learning opportunities during the day, as well as craft projects. I have a large yard for the children, including a paved area where they can ride toys, chalk or just run around. I have a sandbox, picnic table, a children's swimming pool with a slide and numerous ride on toys. I strive to make the children feel at home when at my house. I hope they will view their time with me as the next best thing to being home.

I love spending time with children and love that close relationship with children that you can develop when you are a part of their lives. To me, there is nothing as rewarding and just plain fun than engaging in a conversation with a child. If they are too young to converse, I will be talking to them anyway. I love to read, play and spend time outdoors.

I am energetic, reliable, fun and hard working. I have a very good sense of humor, which is an important trait to have when spending time with children.
