About
Montessori-style early education in a home setting.
I have two full-time spaces available for toddlers/preschoolers aged 2 and up. We focus on early learning: practical life skills and school prep. Practical life skills include developing gross motor coordination, cleaning up after ourselves, setting the table, basic food prep, using cups and cutlery, using a broom and a vacuum, and washing hands. I assist with potty training.
School prep includes art projects and art appreciation, developing fine motor skills, color recognition, early math skills, and pre-reading skills. We work in the garden and observe wildlife as part of the curriculum.
We use the Love & Logic discipline system. The focus is quick intervention of negative behaviors, gentle redirection, teaching children how to communicate their feelings verbally and through baby signs, and working with the family to develop long-term positive behaviors.
A healthy lunch and two snacks are provided. We eat whole grains, healthy proteins, fresh fruit, and dairy. I can accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Located in the Midtown / Belvoir neighborhood, close to East Ridge, Highland Park, and the airport, and convenient to Downtown, UTC, Hamilton Place, Ridgewood, Ridgeside, Rossville, and anybody commuting along Brainerd Road or I-24 / I-75.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00-5:00.
