Dear Parents and Neighbors,
My name is Donna Knowles and I am the owner/director of Beginnings Preschool and Childcare Program located right here in Aurora, Co. I created Beginnings to provide a safe, caring, educational environment where children can learn and grow in an age appropriate setting. I am a licensed preschool teacher in the state of Colorado, fully certified in Child/Infant CPR, First Aid and Universal Precautions. I have a Master's Degree in Child Development and have over 20 years of directing several childrens programs, also teaching preschool, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades, as well as having raised five children of my own.
The Beginnings Program includes art activities, pre-math concepts, music explorations, outdoor play, science, a developmental reading program, story time, games and field trips. All activities are a balance of indoor and outdoor experiences. My goal is to have each child more than ready for their kindergarten experience or the next developmental and educational level. I encourage independence, but also teach children how to work with and cooperate with others. Beginnings supports positive social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
I provide a nutritional breakfast, lunch, and two snacks daily and I am a member of the State of Colorado Food Program. The hours are from 7:00am to 5:30 pm; Monday through Friday. Overnight care, and a before and after school program is also provided. The Beginnings Program is for children 18 months and older and need not be potty trained.
