About the business
Basil Academic Coaches provides high quality tutoring services to children ages Pre-K through Grade 8. We match each child up with a tutor that will provide individualized instruction, study skills, and motivational strategies. Our company is based on the premise that private tutoring is a team approach - and therefore, we maintain communication with your child's teacher to write meaningful goals for each child. We understand the importance of data collection and progress notes and communicate on a regular basis with the child's teacher and parents/guardians. We were founded by a NJ public school teacher with 15 years experience in regular and special education as a teacher and administration experience. We understand NJ schools, curriculum, and the materials being used in schools today.
We are currently opening enrollment for our Summer Programs. Our Summer Programs include the following different programs:
1. ) Reading Clubs- focuses on helping children complete their summer reading assignments for school, engage in reading activities for the pure enjoyment of reading, increase skills in vocabulary, and increase skills in inferences, citing evidence, and creating connections.
2.) STEM Club- Science, Engineering, Technology and Math-- focuses on providing small groups STEM activities. If your child loves science, labs, and hands on activities--this is a perfect summer learning group for them.
3.) Social Skills--this small group primarily serves students with Special Needs. It works on friendship making and maintaining, conversations, consequence understanding, manners, turn taking, self-awareness and much more.
4.) Individualized Instruction- one on one tutoring to reach each child's particular needs.
Our Individualized instruction takes place in a child's home or other preferred location by a parent/guardian. Our Small Groups (Reading Club, STEM, and Social Skills) take place in school, library or other location.
