Basic Beginnings Learning & Development Center

Basic Beginnings provides a learning environment that is safe and healthy, that supports social and emotional development, and that provides positive guidance. Each child is treated as an individual and is encouraged and challenged accordingly. We know that parents know their child best, and we will work together with you to decide how to best help your child learn and develop. Our child centered program, setting, and curriculum are designed to encourage creativity, self-awareness, self-discipline, and independence in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Education Preschool Standards. We accomplish our goals through a differentiated learning style, which acknowledges and respects children’s differences in terms of culture, gender, language readiness, interest, and learning preferences (Tomlinson, 1999). Learning is satisfying and enjoyable when a child plays, explores his or her environment, creates projects, listens to stories, and communicates ideas and feelings. Our curriculum paves the way to a smooth transition to school “learning” and to successful completion of the MCAS tests.
