Baby Steps Home Daycare

Baby Steps Home Daycare was designed with our children, tomorrow's leaders, in mind. Our mission is to provide our babies with a strong academic foundation, while producing emotionally stable minds capable of social adaptability and interaction among their peers; by teaching flexible, research based, age-appropriate academic curricula and various social skills in a small, comfortable setting. Academic skills taught include, but are not limited to, alphabet and number recognition, basic phonemic awareness, and counting using Starfall and ABC Mouse.com, etc. Examples of social skills taught include, but are not limited to, making friends, getting along with others, solving problems, conflict resolution, and responding appropriately to adults; other important awareness skills, such as feelings/emotions, proper hygiene, and stranger danger; and general character trait development (trust, honesty, sportsmanship, caring, forgiveness, etc.). We will also incorporate other activities, such as an exercise, music, art, and basic computer skills.

Baby Steps director has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education; both, a Master's and Specialist s Degree in School Counseling; 15 years of experience as an elementary educator and school counselor; and currently holds a license issued by the Mississippi Department of Education to teach and counsel students in grades K-12.
