SINGING LESSONS! Rock and Classical

My name is Aziza Poggi and I am a classically trained mezzo soprano singer from the Grand Rapids, MI area. I have been studying voice for over 14 years and am your classic, underdog who rose to the top by competing for grants in college for voice, performing in honors recitals, and now I have toured the country and Europe with my classical symphonic metal band Aria Flame.

I have studied with opera sensation Nicholas Loren (has performed at the Metropolitan Opera), Dr. Stephen Barton (head of GRCC music department), Bill Bokhout (Opera Grand Rapids), Diane Koperski (GRCC voice program), Mary Zimmer (international performer and teacher; vocalist of White Empress), Melissa Ferlaak (international performer and teacher), Pamela Moore (Queensryche), and many more.

In the beginning of my career I had low self-esteem and at the time did not realize how much that was holding me back from becoming the singer I am today. People may not realize that singing is a lot about confidence. Working with a vocal coach is an excellent way to boost your confidence while learning ways to improve your voice. I know the fundamentals of breath support, technique, and can teach many different styles.

Currently I am accepting beginner to intermediate students 14 (parent or guardian must be present if under 18 yrs old) or older for classical voice and pop (rock) vocal style via in person at my rented studio or via Skype lessons. Lessons are one full hour and are personally suited to your individual needs. Payments must be received in full before the start of each lesson. For Skype, all you need is a free Skype account, a microphone or plug in, and a video cam.
