About
Asheville Self Defense offers an after-school martial arts program to families in South Asheville. We offer transportation from Avery's Creek, Koontz, Estes, Valley Springs Middle, and Glen Arden elementary schools. Our program consists of time to complete homework and reading assignments, snacks, an age appropriate martial arts class, and game time. ASD instructors are all highly trained and experienced working with elementary age children.
The program is designed to teach coordination and balance, develop self defense skills, and most importantly it focuses on character development. These "life skills" must be learned and displayed at home and at the Dojo before being allowed to test.
