About the business
I strive to make connections with families and help them not only feel more empowered to become more knowledgeable in their child's skill levels, but proudly step up to improve their parenting skills in order to better connect with their children. I have worked with young children since 2005 and have a son of my own, who is now 18 and the light of my life. He is my ultimate resume; a devoted and loving son who went on to gain his Eagle Scout Rank in April 2019, but is a kind, thoughtful, and wonderfully empathetic young man that delights me everyday. Everything I learned to being the masterful family coach and early childhood teacher, I put to task with him.
As for my credentials, I have my BS degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, certified from Birth to Primary, and near completion of my Master's of Arts in Special Education degree with the emphasis on Learning Disorders and Emotional Behavioral Disorders. I also have my Montessori AMS Teacher Certification with NAMC and taught in a Montessori classroom from 2007-2012, while I apprenticed under a Montessori teacher two years prior.
I am currently contracted with the First Steps program in Kentucky and currently service the following counties: Larue, Hardin, Nelson, Washington, Marion, Taylor, Green, Adair, and Hart. I enjoy coaching families and providing evidence-based and highly effective strategies and education that encompasses those aspects in children's development in all five areas (Motor and Praxis development, both fine and large, Speech and Language, Self-Help and Adaptive skills, Cognitive and Social/Emotional focus. I have worked with families and daycares within the First Steps program since March 2012 and continue my contract with the program for the foreseeable future. I excel in the assessment of children's skill levels between birth and tutor and can provide enrichment and activities for children up to age ten (10).
