Anothen Preschool is a nature-based preschool that strives to provide your students with the experience of our natural environment while they discover new things and grow in mind, body and Christ.

Students will have the opportunity to discover what it's like to love the Lord and be encouraged to grow their mind and body through movement and play. At APA we use an emergent educational approach using nature based exploration. Our educational approach is influenced in part by Reggio Emilia and Forest School educational philosophies while using the Bob Jones University Curriculum.

We offer several different classroom experiences for your child to discover, learn and grow. Here are a few of them: Arts & Crafts, Stretch-N-Grow, Chapel, Cooking/Baking, Nature Walks, Gardening, Stem Activities, Music & Movement, Mission Projects, & More!

There are 5 important benefits to learning and playing outdoors:
1. Physical - Being outdoors improves motor skills, overall physical health, lowers body mass index and creates an appreciation for our environment.
2. Emotional - Teachers report better overall student behavior and satisfaction. Students have also proven to become more open towards caregivers and parents.
3. Social - Nature-based play and learning influences cooperation skills and reduces conflict. It also improves a child's peer-to-peer relationships.
4. Intellectual - Improves critical thinking, problem solving and creativity. Children also show an increase in self awareness and communication skills.
5. Spiritual - Being outdoors helps us grow closer with our Creator. Students can also experience an increased level of peace and thankfulness.
