I have loved working with children since I was old enough to do so. It was this passion that drove me to get a degree in elementary education. After the birth of my first child, I decided to stay home and to care for other children as well. I have years of experience babysitting and I also worked at a child care facility for about 2 years as a teacher. The age I worked with the most were 6 weeks-2 yr olds, although I was sometimes in the older aged classrooms as well. I have experience with elementary aged children from being a substitute teacher for the past year and a half and from clinical experiences in college.
My home is cozy and welcoming for children. I will be loving and nurturing toward your children as if they were my own. I can teach developmental and academic skills. I will provide two healthy snacks a day and a healthy lunch. I have many sleeping options for children that need to take naps. We will also do arts and crafts and play outside when it is not too cold out. A park is located directly behind my house and we have a nice, fenced in backyard. I believe in using positive reinforcement when teaching how to behave. We also have a library nearby that we will travel to often and many reading opportunities will be provided every day. I am a teacher, after all. :)
I welcome children 6 weeks old through 5th grade. I can help with homework before and after school.
