The Montessori Method, based on the highly successful theories of Marie Montessori, is taught in 125 countries in 22,000 schools. The goal of a Montessori education is to graduate students with a vision of what the world can be and the wherewithal to lead and accomplish that mission. The children's inherent "love of learning" is encouraged by giving them opportunities to engage in spontaneous, meaningful activities. Montessori students use hands-on materials to explore and discover. Through their work, the children develop concentration, motivation, persistence and discipline. Montessori classrooms are multi-age with three age groupings: primary, ages 3-6; lower elementary, ages 6-9; and upper elementary, ages 9-12. Based on the 2011-12 enrollment data, the school meets the state integration standard.
