As an individual, I've worked with many different types of animals since being a full service veterinary tech in a big city. Now as a Reiki Master for 15 years, I offer care sessions and classes in Reiki with Animals. I am interested in animal communication; I approach living beings as not only only needing "care" but also emotional and behavioral attention. So I integrate this into my approach.
My career as a professional psychologist for 25 years in Maine has helped me in my animal and pet work with families and businesses to understand habits and patterns that both people and animals have. They are not that different!
I work mostly with dogs and cats, and I love to pet sit which I have done as an individual on and off for about 10 years since I closed my psychology practice in Maine. I've house and farm sat for horses, dogs, donkeys, farm animals. I live with my old dog, Red, a Chinook, and a little Blue Heeler who keeps me on my toes, and have had in my family many cats, small mammals, reptiles and amphibians (no snakes please), One of my cats (Willie the Reiki Cat) is in the book Cats at Work.
Last year, I relocated from Colorado to New Mexico and decided to open this business. But it is really just me, and I want to keep it that way to give the best attention I can to my clients and be sure that things are taken care of they way you want. The only exception might be if an animal is in danger, in which case, I will do what is necessary for safety. I'm CPR and First Aid certified and a member of Pet Sitter's International. I live in Gila, and come in regularly to Silver City. I don't mind commuting as long as the client is willing to pay a little extra for responsible and loving pet care.
