Amy Finnerty

I am currently the Lead Teacher in a private preschool program, and am planning on resigning at the end of the Summer. I have been with the program since 2007. During my time there I have earned my Child Development Associates degree, and obtained certifications in CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease, Child Abuse Prevention, Child Development, and Health and Safety. I have also completed 54 hours of Core Knowledge in Preschool. I am responsible for up to 14 children at a time in my pre-kindergarten classroom on a daily basis. I love my job, my center, and all the children in my classroom. However I have a 9 month old daughter and a 10 year old son, and would love to be able to give my children as well as the children I would care for in my home, the one on one attention all children need and deserve. I have experience caring for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. I have spent many hours planning activities and lesson plans for children as well. I love getting them involved in art, dramatic play, music, sensory activities, cooking, holiday projects and more! I also love getting them outdoors or to a park or library. Ever since I can remember I have loved taking care of and working with kids. My ultimate goal was to gain many years of experience where I now feel comfortable and confident with caring for children in my home, and want to give children and parents the security and stability we all hope for. I am a patient, loving wife and mother who loves being with kids and family and being creative. I also love doing cosmetic art such as make up and face painting, as well as baking, decorating and reading. I am excited to make caring for children in my home a great experience for both your family and mine!
