The Amherst Presbyterian Church Preschool is a primary outreach of Amherst Presbyterian Church. Open to the community, the school engages children in a variety of activities and study to help them grow in a Christian atmosphere. Our preschool is 27 years strong!
The preschool was founded with the belief that preschool age children thrive in a positive, relaxed environment with ample opportunities for exploration and discovery. We believe that in the preschool years, play is a learning experience that teaches children about the world and the people and objects around them. We provide a variety of basic activities and games designed to help children develop skills and concepts that will help to ease the transition from preschool to school.
More than the development of any particular skill, however, we value the development of self-confidence. We believe that providing children with simple exercises at which they can succeed is very important, especially during their early years. As they gradually learn more difficult tasks and understand more complicated concepts, their sense of themselves as valuable, unique individuals will grow.
