Our days right now are as follows: Breakfast in mornings followed by outside play or a walk possibly to a park to play or just walking. Free play inside while I make lunch. Lunch is between 11:30 and 12:00. After lunch we clean up what messes have been made from free play, and then follow that up with nap / rest time. The older kids (5 & up) write in a journal and read / look at books for about 45 mins, and then they are able to watch a movie to keep things quiet for the younger ones to finish up their nap. Nap/Rest time is a standard of 2 hours. After nap/rest I read and allow the kids who can read to read aloud if they wish. Then snack is distributed. Once snack is finished by everyone we either go back outside to play if weather permits or head downstairs to play and do age appropriate learning activities or do a craft. We leave the TV off for most of the day. The only times it may be on is in the morning during drop off, during nap for the older ones or maybe on during pick up times after 5. (For no more than an hour at a time) We listen to a lot of music throughout the day.
I have just a basic schedule going, but still allow the kids to play and make some of their own decisions. If they have a box of blocks out and are really engaging in that, I hate to interrupt their creativity
